Esparon base camp - this stream of research stems from exploring - Practice and (not) technology & Practice and technology; via Architecture “Artisanale” as a nascent practice theory centred around techniques of construction and, in response to standard means of description (drawings) communication of the design idea through the technological means of CAD & the Parametric. Recognising the reality of the realisation of a building relies entirely on the persons engaged in the act. This disconnect is flagrant, but it is not only the inability or deficiency of the “dolt” on site but also that of the conceiver to communicate. This observation goes to the heart of contemporary practice. Certainly, an architectural project being built first hand by its conceptor and helpers, is an extremely direct and efficient communication method with decisions and details developing in response to and in anticipation of potential architectonic and technical issues.
